How We Work With Clients
We’re committed to in-person meetings
Phone, email, and Zoom all have their advantages, and when it comes to talking through and understanding multiple courses of action, we believe there’s nothing like an in-person meeting. We’ve designed our business to facilitate periodic in-person meetings, no matter where our clients are in the world.
We know it’s more than just you
As we meet periodically, we will offer the opportunity to include other stakeholders, whether that’s family, board of directors, staff, an investment committee, or outside legal and tax advisors.
We utilize prudent, long-term investment strategies that evoke the source of our clients’ wealth
It’s always struck our team as odd when people create wealth in a straightforward, easy-to-understand way, and then, in order to “protect” their wealth, start using complex, expensive, and opaque investment strategies. We position ourselves in opposition to Wall Street’s “trust us, we know better” approach. At Continuity, you’ll look at your portfolio and understand what you own and why.
We know it’s all connected
Our clients have taken the time—and offered the trust—to share their life situation and values, which helps us do a better job on their behalf.
Our Team
Our advisors and portfolio managers have an average of 30 years of industry experience.

What I’ve loved most about my 29-year career in finance is the way that our clients have invited me into their lives, showing me the world through their eyes, and giving me the opportunity to have a positive impact. It’s deeply fulfilling work.
The most important thing I’ve learned is that money affects, not just our finances, but our relationships (including our relationship with ourselves!). Too many investors fret about returns, while ignoring the impact of their financial decisions on the people around them. As a result, they risk leaving a financial legacy but not a personal one. The key to addressing this risk is communication, which our team works hard to facilitate and promote.
As a financial professional, I’ve been privileged to work at Johnston, Lemon & Co. and Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas. I’ve held a wide variety of leadership roles and am a Registered Supervisory Principal and Registered Options Principal.
Before my career in finance, I was a Military Intelligence officer in the U.S. Army, after attending the University of South Carolina on an Army scholarship. In the 29 years since I left the Army, I’ve often been struck by the similarities between my two careers. Both jobs involve taking a complex situation, making it easy to understand, creating a plan, and then getting things done.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two adult sons, traveling, reading, gardening, and getting outside as often as I can (I’m always up for a walk-and-talk meeting!).

I enjoy analyzing investments and talking to clients. This business is a natural fit for me. I’ve been interested in the stock market since I was in high school. I used to review stock tables in the Oregonian and the Wall Street Journal after school. I like complexity, and markets are constantly changing and rarely dull. I find looking for good investments and structuring portfolios for clients fulfilling.
I spend a lot of my time reviewing investments and monitoring economic and market conditions. This information is vital to structure portfolios for clients that are reflective of their risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and other factors that affect their investment goals.
I started my career as an equity analyst at Capital Resources, Inc. & Johnston, Lemon & Co. before spending seven years as an accountant. I worked at Morgan Stanley for a year as a financial advisor before joining Johnston Lemon Asset Management as a portfolio manager and analyst in 2005. I was there for nine years before co-founding New Potomac Partners, LLC in 2014. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
I am a CFA Charterholder and an active member of the CFA Society of Washington, D.C. When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family and playing tennis. I grew up in Portland, Oregon and now reside in Potomac, MD. I’m hoping this is the year the Ducks finally win a national championship.

You’d expect getting into financial services is all about the numbers, but what I love most about my job is the relationship building and the intimacy of people sharing their lives with you. Our clients trust us with way more than just their balance sheets and that is both an honor and a privilege.
The most important thing I’ve learned in my career is the value of integrity. It’s a core tenant on our team in fact. Take the time to answer a question the right way instead of right away and when you make a mistake, take full accountability as you work to make it right. None of us are perfect, we’re deeply human, but the only way to maintain trust is to maintain integrity.
Prior to Continuity Wealth Group I worked at Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas in Washington DC. I began my career with JPMorgan in Northern New Jersey in August of 2008 (what a time to join the industry!) and later moved to their Private Bank offices in New York. I graduated from Villanova University, Go ‘Cats!
I live in Capitol Hill with my husband and our two young sons. These days, most of our time is spent with school activities and sports, but we also enjoy traveling and taking advantage of all the things our beautiful city has to offer.

What I love about my 42-year career is being a part of our client’s lives and family and helping them achieve their dreams.
The most important thing that I have learned is listening to our clients’ needs and wants and doing my best to deliver.
I joined the firm Johnston, Lemon & Co. in January 1982, and then Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas in 2015. I have held a wide variety of positions and currently serve as the Client Service Coordinator for Continuity Wealth Group.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband in our house in the woods and with our 7 grandchildren. I believe family comes first and the importance of having work home balance.

In my 50 plus years in this industry, my love has always been the relationships with clients and employees that I have developed. I have had the privilege of helping clients achieve their investment objectives and as a manager, helping employees further their careers. Many of these relationships remain.
The most important thing I have learned over my years is that many things change in our industry and many things influence our business. But there is one constant, and that is that people will always need advice when it comes to their investments. It’s extremely difficult to navigate the changing times without advice, and this involves more frequent communication. Communication is vital, and it’s a principal of our practice and team.
I started at Johnston, Lemon & Co. in 1968 after graduation from the University of Maryland with a BS in Business Administration. I started as an Account Representative, moved on to Branch Manager, and eventually to overall Sales Manager. That led to the position of President and CEO of the firm. I spent 5 years on the Small Firm’s Advisory Board with the N.A.S.D. and served on the Securities Industry Advisory Board. I found those experiences extremely rewarding. Today, I am a registered Securities Principal and Senior Manager for Continuity Wealth Group.
Outside of the office, my family is my highest priority. There always seems to be something on the calendar. Even with the children a little older now, we still find time to travel to our beach house in Delaware. I also love golf, it just can’t get any better.
I strongly believe in my responsibility as a parent. As this world changes, my children need a sounding board and role model more than ever. As I have gotten older, this responsibility has been my top priority. When it comes to beliefs in business, I was taught years ago: client first, firm second, salesman third. This is still my belief.

What I love most about my job is working with a team that cares deeply about their clients and their work and provides a path for professional and personal growth. Since I first entered the workforce, I’ve had a strong conviction to make a positive difference in people’s lives, and I get to live that value daily with Continuity.
The most important thing I’ve learned in my career is the power of adaptability. I started in my role as John Clardy’s executive assistant on March 16, 2020, as stay-at-home orders riveted the world and embracing new systems and technology became a necessity. I was entering an industry that was entirely new to me, but I quickly learned how to leverage my strong administration and customer service skills to help provide the exceptional client experience we strive for. Being able to pivot toward the needs of our times and the needs of our clients and team is a skill set that gratifies me both professionally and personally.
I am the proud “keeper of the calendars.” You can count on me to be proactive in connecting you with your advisors. I also love project management and technology that makes our lives and jobs more efficient, so I’m always working behind the scenes to improve the quality of our services for you.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, and I love all things movement related. Dance has always been a huge part of my life; I taught Pilates for over a decade and ran a Pilates teacher-training program; and now I am training in jiu-jitsu, which I love! I believe the wisdom of the mind/body connection can be applied to all areas of life.

I find the greatest reward in helping clients feel confident and secure about their financial decisions. My role allows me to guide them through the complexities of their portfolios, ensuring their needs are met with precision and care. I believe in delivering exceptional service with a personal touch, making sure that each client feels heard and supported.
With 17 years of experience in the financial services sector, I bring a comprehensive skill set in client service, relationship management, and financial operations. My expertise includes working with a variety of custodians, managing alternative investments, and collaborating across teams to ensure clients’ financial goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. I am always focused on finding ways to streamline processes and enhance client satisfaction.
Outside of work, I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and daughter. Our family enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking together, always seeking new adventures and experiences. I believe in a work life balance that allows me to stay grounded while delivering the best results for our clients.

The most rewarding aspect of my job is witnessing the transformative impact of well-structured financial advice on clients’ lives. I handle administrative tasks, support the advisors and strive to provide remarkable service to you.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned that clear communication and personalized service are paramount in building trust and fostering lasting relationships. Money is deeply personal and should be treated as such – you are more than your net worth!
With a solid foundation in finance and tax, I have amassed 16 years of experience across various roles, including financial planning and tax accounting. My expertise enables me to optimize processes and enhance client satisfaction. I hold credentials including Enrolled Agent, Wealth Management Specialist, Series 65 and am currently pursuing additional qualifications to
deepen my expertise.
I live in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York with my husband and daughter. I enjoy gardening, reading, and volunteering in my community. My commitment to integrity and excellence drives me to continually improve both personally and professionally. I believe that life is about the journey, not the destination, and that we must find joy along the way.
